Obituary – Industry loses well-respected electronic catalogue innovator

 

Kerrie Gregoriou, MD of Autocosmos.biz and co-developer of the iconic Electrolog catalogue, has sadly succumbed as he bravely fought his debilitating illness. Passionate and committed in all aspects of his life, Kerrie was renowned and respected across the automotive industry in Southern Africa for his drive to provide a catalogue of auto electrical parts and components – which included pics, specs and physical measurements – with an ease of reference to the industry he loved and supported.

 

His vision to create a ‘communication medium between users, buyers and suppliers from all levels of the auto electrical aftermarket in Southern Africa’ and with many of the leading importers and distributors contributing and subscribing to Electrolog, the catalogues are considered by many to the ‘go to’ reference in the Auto Electrical sector. Kerrie's passion for the auto electrical side of the automotive industry was clearly inherited from his father, the late Chris Gregoriou – founder of Chris Auto Electric.

 

As a Greek Cypriot, Kerrie’s commitment to his family was all encompassing, even whilst working late into the night in order to develop and improve his product. He often proudly regaled Autoforum of their achievements over a cup of coffee. Kerrie is survived by his wife Eleni and sons Christoforos and Michali, as well as his extended family. His impact on his community was attested to by the outstanding attendance at his funeral.

 

A man of integrity and generosity, Kerrie’s passing has left a gap with all who knew him and he will be sorely missed by his loving family, friends, colleagues and business associates. Autoforum’s sincere condolences to his family and work colleagues.
