Malas, a South African-based wheel and tyre retailer and distributor, has announced that it has invested substantially in upgrading its wheel alignment facility at the iconic Malas Drivestyle Centre, situated in Pretoria. They add that their technicians have also undergone intensive training on the new equipment, which - together with 7 dedicated wheel alignment bays equipped with the latest John Bean technology - underlies its belief that it is leading the way in precision wheel alignment service in the retail segment of the tyre industry.
At the official launch of the wheel alignment centre, Neville Stevenson, of Snap-On Equipment presented Malas with a certificate of recognition naming it the largest and most advanced wheel alignment centre in the world. Stevenson praised Malas as the industry’s early adopters: “For years Malas has always demanded the latest technology in the industry”.
In addition to the company receiving this impressive accolade, each technician was presented with their training certificates. Malas alignment technicians are the first in Africa to receive training on the V2300 and the V3400 wheel aligners, making them the front-runners in wheel alignment service excellence. A Malas representative remarked: “We are very proud of our wheel alignment technicians as they lead the way in technical expertise.”
John Bean are innovators of wheel alignment technology. They were the first to design a dedicated alignment machine to diagnose problems, the first to launch an optically based alignment system in the tyre industry and now the first to release a self-calibrating 3D alignment system.
Malas says it is poised to continue leading the innovation journey and is planning further upgrades at their workshop facility. A company representative mentioned that they have introduced system automation, streamlined processes and are pursuing a higher level of refinement in the performance of workshop services.
