IAMaga, a group representing African members of Nexus Automotive International, is taking strides to leverage Nexus' extensive network of over 100 member companies across Africa. With a mission to deliver aftermarket support services, IAMaga aims to propel Nexus (N!) members to new heights. Their expertise lies in fostering unique initiatives that strengthen collaboration between members and supplier communities.
On 18 November 2024, Johannesburg, South Africa, hosted the “NEXUS Africa Connecting Day” and the “One Africa Business Summit by IAMaga.” The event brought together over 70 delegates, including NEXUS/IAMaga suppliers and members from across the continent. Nexus expressed satisfaction with the strong representation from South and East Africa, underscoring the growing regional engagement.
The summit kicked off with a two-hour conference that provided valuable insights into Africa’s economy, along with the challenges and opportunities within the automotive aftermarket sector. A significant highlight was the introduction of two new suppliers, Spanjaard and SKF, to the IAMaga group. Notably, Spanjaard became the first African supplier to join the community, a milestone marking IAMaga’s commitment to local supplier integration. With plans to onboard approximately seven more suppliers in the near future, IAMaga is actively expanding its network. Delegates participated in a packed schedule of one-on-one meetings, efficiently organised over two days.
